About Me
I am an EBVS® European and RCVS-recognised Specialist in Veterinary Ophthalmology and the founder of VetSEES. I graduated from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno, Czech Republic, in 2008, where I also completed a PhD. I subsequently undertook several years of specialist training in the United Kingdom, gaining the BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology in 2017 and becoming a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO) in 2021.
Over the course of my career, I have worked in several UK veterinary referral centres as a consultant ophthalmologist, including in senior leadership roles as Head of Ophthalmology. This has allowed me to develop extensive clinical expertise alongside strong managerial experience. At VetSEES, I combine clinical practice with service leadership to provide high-quality, evidence-based ophthalmology care for pets and a responsive, collaborative service for referring vets.
Alongside my clinical work, I am a VIN consultant, a BVA/KC/ISDS Eye Scheme appointed panellist, and Chair of the Scientific Committee for the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. I enjoy all aspects of ophthalmology, from clinical work to research, with particular interests in ophthalmic microsurgery, including intraocular surgery, neuro-ophthalmology, ocular manifestations of systemic disease, and inherited eye diseases. I am also actively involved in teaching and mentoring, supporting the training and development of future veterinary ophthalmologists.
